In Tamil Nadu government and aided schools, Class 4 and 5 follow the Malar (மலர்) Level under the state’s Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) mission. Malar materials are designed to ensure children master reading fluency, comprehension, and fundamental arithmetic operations:
